Indulge in the rich flavors of this Caramel Butter Pecan Praline Poke Cake, a moist dessert layered with buttery caramel and crunchy pecans for the perfect sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (plus ingredients called for on the box)
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups whipped topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the yellow cake mix according to the package instructions and bake in a 9×13-inch pan as directed.
  2. Once the cake is baked and still warm, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
  3. Pour caramel sauce evenly over the poke holes, allowing it to seep into the cake.
  4. In a saucepan, combine melted butter, brown sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Bring to a gentle boil and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Stir in chopped toasted pecans into the caramel mixture, then pour over the caramel-soaked cake evenly.
  6. Let the cake cool completely to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  7. Before serving, spread whipped topping generously over the cake and garnish with extra pecans if desired.

Notes

For extra indulgence, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or drizzle additional caramel sauce on top.
