Chocolate Puff Pastry

Indulge in flaky, buttery puff pastry filled with rich melted chocolate, perfect for a quick and elegant dessert or snack.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (optional)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth creases.
  3. Cut the puff pastry into 4 equal squares.
  4. Place a small handful of chopped dark chocolate in the center of each square.
  5. Fold each square diagonally to form a triangle and press the edges firmly to seal.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg to give a golden finish when baked.
  7. Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and brush with melted butter for shine, if desired.
  9. Sprinkle with powdered sugar once slightly cooled, then serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or a drizzle of caramel sauce when serving.
