Cottage Cheese Tots are crispy, golden-brown bites made from cottage cheese and potatoes, perfect as a healthy snack or side dish.

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup shredded potatoes (fresh or frozen, thawed)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine cottage cheese, shredded potatoes, shredded cheddar, flour, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until a sticky dough forms.
  2. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
  3. Using your hands, shape the mixture into small tot-sized cylinders or balls.
  4. Place tots in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels if desired.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with almond flour or a gluten-free flour blend. Serve with marinara or ranch dressing for extra flavor.
