These festive Grinch Crinkle Cookies are soft, green, and perfectly sweet with a delightful powdered sugar coating—ideal for holiday celebrations and gifting.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • Green food coloring, a few drops
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla and peppermint extracts.
  5. Add green food coloring gradually until the desired bright green color is achieved.
  6. Slowly mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  7. Using a tablespoon, scoop dough and roll into balls, then roll each ball generously in powdered sugar.
  8. Place balls onto prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until cookies have spread and the tops crackle.
  10. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra festive touch, drizzle melted white chocolate over the cooled cookies or sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies.
