Korean BBQ Beef is a flavorful, marinated grilled dish that combines tender beef with a savory-sweet sauce, perfect for an authentic Korean dinner experience.

  • 1 lb beef ribeye or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine or mirin
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste), optional
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, green onions, rice wine, black pepper, and gochujang if using.
  2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade and toss to coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 4 hours.
  3. Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the beef slices for 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked through and slightly caramelized.
  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For an extra smoky flavor, try grilling over charcoal and serve with steamed rice and kimchi.
