Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar; let stand 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add remaining sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and 2 cups of flour. Beat until smooth.
  3. Gradually add remaining flour until dough is soft but not sticky.
  4. Knead dough on floured surface for 6–8 minutes until elastic.
  5. Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  7. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling. Roll dough into a 16×12-inch rectangle.
  8. Spread softened butter evenly over dough, sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture and chopped pecans.
  9. Roll up dough tightly from the long side; cut into 12 equal slices.
  10. For the glaze, melt butter and maple syrup together; pour into baking pan.
  11. Arrange rolls in pan over the glaze. Cover and let rise 30 minutes.
  12. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown. Cool 10 minutes before inverting onto a plate to serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the maple glaze before baking to enhance the sweetness and balance the flavors.
