Ingredients
Scale
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
In a bowl, combine cooked spinach, feta cheese, cream cheese, salt, and pepper.
Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Spread the spinach and cheese mixture evenly over half of the pastry.
Fold the pastry over the filling and gently press to seal.
Using a sharp knife, cut the filled pastry into strips about 1-inch wide.
Twist each strip several times and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the twists with beaten egg for a golden finish.
Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, sprinkle some sesame seeds or dried oregano over the twists before baking.
