Tuna Noodle Casserole

Tuna Noodle Casserole is a comforting and creamy baked dish combining tender noodles, flaky tuna, and a rich mushroom sauce, perfect for an easy family dinner.

  • 2 cups egg noodles
  • 1 can (5 oz) tuna, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup crushed potato chips or breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together cream of mushroom soup, milk, tuna, peas, chopped onion, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Stir in the cooked noodles until evenly coated.
  5. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Top with remaining cheddar cheese, crushed potato chips or breadcrumbs, and dot with butter.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.
  8. Remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard to the sauce or sprinkle fresh parsley on top before serving.
